The company all started in the garage of my house all the way back in Winter of 2015. I was unhappy with the candles I would spend a fortune on that had scents that would only last through one burn. I started making my own candles with beeswax, while the previous candles I bought were made of paraffin. It took a few test runs until I figured out how exactly I wanted to produce my candles and scents. I started by just using essential oils but it wasn't producing 'quite the strength of scent I wanted. After a long while, I finally got the results I wanted with the Bougie Signature type. I made a large surplus of candles with tons of variety and gave them as gifts to friends and family at first. From there, the knowledge of my candles grew, so I started up my business selling candles. I occasionally have help making candles, but mostly I have to make everything myself. That's fine, though; I love making candles!
